HISTORY

A Family Affair

Growing up in NYC, Polly and Peter had their first internship at the dinner table. Their mom was a creative director at Doyle Dane Bernbach during the Golden Age of Advertising, long before digital. At her office, they’d scribble on giant storyboards and play with props on commercial sets. The tenets of brand-building soaked deep into their pores.

Patty Volk was a pioneer. She named the iconic candy bar Whatchamacallit while working on the Hershey account and won several Clio Advertising Awards. Peter and Polly learned to see the world through the aperture of her eye. At the supermarket, instead of reading tabloid headlines, they would compare candy packaging, fonts and logos.
